So are achievements only suppose to exist for the current save, or is it suppose to list all things you've unlocked. Because I unlocked one class, then unlocked a race, and unlocked another race all under different saves and checked the Achievements and it only had the latest one I unlocked listed with the time and name of the character that unlocked it.
I think some of these may have been addressed before:
1. The game sometimes just closes out and I lose my save, but it's only happened when my character was either an Archer or Slinger. It just happened randomly whether I'm moving or attacking.
2. When equipping arrows or shots, if you already have some equipped their numerical value gets added to the value of the one you are equipping, but the stats are that of the one you equip. Shouldn't the arrows/shots be swapped out when equipping arrows/shots of a different stat?
3. It seems everytime I get down to the 5th level of the starting dungeon there is a separated area that is almost impossible to get to. I ended up having to use phase door scrolls to teleport to and from the area. And Shade wasn't anywhere on the 5th level the first time I went down there.
[Spoilers]
4. At the sandworm area I don't really see how to get through the area without being undead. And when I did play undead and went through the area I ended up getting caught in sand and having to hold down an arrow key to speed up the worm to dig another tunnel so I could get out, but I think I did it one too many times or something, because after a while I got to a hollow area in sand and the worm never showed up no matter how long I waited. I was trying to return to the entrance and was one hollow space away from it.

Re: Achievement Bug, and others
Discussion on #2's been going on a bit here, if you're interested in DG's comments.
I get the random crashes occasionally as well, without warning or stderr output, but with things besides archers. General thoughts seem to be that it's music related and the upcoming version may -- at least -- improve stability. We'll see.
Can't help yeh with #3. I've had one case where Bill didn't show up when I hit the level a second time, but again, DG thinks he knows what happened and may have fixed it, so we'll see next round.
For #4, you just follow the tunnel worms, mostly. Stick to staying behind them and keeping up; they follow specific movement patterns, so if one passes through an area once, they'll pass through again, generally. Consider getting magic mapping scrolls (seven or eight should do you, if you've got a decent-ish magic score) or the vision talent before hitting the pit, as that'll make it a lot easier to track where tunnels are opening up. I've got through them without being undead pretty easily, it just takes some patience.
M'not sure about the achievement stuff, though. I unlocked pretty much everything (Missing the two non-undead races, so far) with the same (memory editor enhanced, tbh) character, so I've no real clue how unlocking different things with multiple characters works.
Anyway, hope that helps.

Re: Achievement Bug, and others
Not all unlockings grant an achievement, they are two separate things.
Achievements are stored in a world.teaw file in your home, if you do not move your home you're fine.
Frumple: Memory editor ? you cheater !!!!!

Re: Achievement Bug, and others
Yer darn tootin' I am.
Less effort than figurin' out how to edit the modules to unlock everything, heh, though more effort than ol' tome's debug mode. Mage's a darn sight easier to play than anythin' else in that class list, fer me, at least. Buggering around with those flimsy saps that don't spew a steady stream a'death from the get go's a waste'a time, kehe.
Well, the summoner dude's alright, 'least once enough points are in one of the summons it sticks around for more than a second. I'm mostly junk with everything else, though, so sometimes I's gotta'... bypass things, ya' dig ^^. Gots to get everything open and playable before I go back to getting ganked from the shadows like everyone else, kuhu.

Re: Achievement Bug, and others
But the world.teaw file is in the save folder that gets wiped out if you die. I unlocked an achievement for unlocking a class, I checked the achievements option and it was listed there, then I died and started a new character and I had no achievements listed when I checked again.darkgod wrote:Not all unlockings grant an achievement, they are two separate things.

EDIT: I think it erases all achievements even if you leave the game. I got the Level 10 achievement, Saved and quit, played on the same character that unlocked the achievement and it wasn't there.
Re: Achievement Bug, and others
Locations and longevity of files may be platform-specific. (?)
On Linux, the world.teaw file is in $HOME/.t-engine/4.0/tome/save/ and it does not go away when my character dies. (Starting a new character creates $HOME/.t-engine/4.0/tome/save/CharName/.)
However, despite the file staying there, when I look at achievements with my new character, it's blank. And I'm pretty sure I had the blood-of-life achievement on this computer, at some point.

Re: Achievement Bug, and others
That is weird..
And no it does not get erased, it lives in ~/.t-engine/4.0/tome/save/world.teaw whereas savefiles are subdirectories of this directory

Re: Achievement Bug, and others
I had a character die and my achievments are still there with the new character (Character level 10, size matters), even after exiting the T-engine.
Re: Achievement Bug, and others
I just had a character die, and my achievement is NOT showing up in the next character.
beta2, compiled from source, running on Linux. I had a character find and drink the blood of life, die once, resurrect (unlocks the achievement), and die again. Next character, nothing on the list.
