Meteor Rain makes it impossible to leave the Ambush zone

My character got trapped in the Ambush zone, and as far as I'm aware the sequence of events that lead to this is as follows. I cast Meteor Rain, which transformed a part of the ground into lava. Shortly afterwards, I killed Uruk on the lava, which created a spot where I could leave the zone. I then spent some more time in the zone picking up the loot and resting. By the time I was done, the lava turned back into grass and together with the lava, the way out also disappeared. I believe the disappearance of the exit must be a bug. In most different zones this would not be a big deal, but Ambush prevents the use of the Rod of Recall, so it seems that I'm just stuck there.

Incidentally, if anyone has ideas about how my character might be able to escape, they would be deeply appreciated.
