[1.7.2] Abyssal shield and logs

#1 Post by Lan »

Technically it's the ashes of urok dlc and too be fair, not sure if it can be considered as a bug. But here it goes:

* From the talent description, it seems Abyssal shield should act as flat damage reduction (?)
* The damage reduction does not appear in the game log
* Vim is being drained upon taking damage

I am assuming that the talent does work, but it's hard to tell when looking at the logs. Guess I could try it out by finding a source of self-inflicting, static damage. In any case, would be cool to see it reflected in the logs, similar to other flat reduction =)

Also, while I am at it, why not display the demonic blood damage increase in the stat char sheet as +all damage %? The damage increase does work, but just not displayed in the char sheet. Unless the damage increase is applied as a seperate instance?

The damage reduction does happen, it's just not displayed in the log(maybe because it's a variable amount, there's another variable amount reduction skill I forgot that also doesn't show in the log). I tested in 1.6.7 at least and it worked fine as long as I had vim(easy way to test, turn off flames, use fearscape shift so you damage yourself, it'll do reduce damage when you're full vim and increase as your vim gets lower until it does its normal full dmg, or just turn off shield to see the difference)

As a side note, since that's what prompted me to check, it does not stack with Masochism dmg reduction, because it simply gives you abyssal shield too so it doesn't stack.

Could be better if it was displayed in the log though for sure.

Yeah, tested it too since then. And it does apply the flat damage reduction.

On anoter note, the flat damage reduction from the the cursed / rampage talent doesn't display in the logs either. Didn't test that one though to see if it is just a log issue or not.

Just wanted to chime in to say it would be nice if the damage reduction is logged. It is always interesting to me to see the order of operations and how your skills interact. I like looking at the logs after a tough combat to see the math.
