Many Doom abilities do not work/scale properly with Adept1.7

I have been doing some doom runs with v1.7 on the infinite dungeon, and am using Adept this time around, as I notice many wins almost always have adept (Old version). This also tells me that perhaps the class is too dependent on Adept because too many abilities require very heavy investment.

Anyhow, the new Adept does not scale properly with many of the various abilities. I will post more specifically in my development post regarding the Doom class in the development threads, but it is all over the place currently.

Considering a lot of Doomed wins happened before Adept even existed, i doubt it is too reliant on it.

Not really. If you look up on the website, on Insane difficulty, there are very very few wins for Doomed. https://te4.org/characters-vault?tag_na ... s=1&page=0

18/25 on the first page have Adept in them, with the oldest ones probably not having that available to them. 8/10 Wins for the latest version of TOME have Adept. That is not much variety. Most of the total wins have Adept in them, and I think I counted only 34 wins total on Insane, which isn't very much.

it's weird to filter on only official addon since a lot of people use QoL ones. By removing this filter the number of wins triple.

and yes, new talents are picked disproportionally more because... they're new. People wanna play new stuff. Ask a lot of people and they will tell you : Adept power level is lackluster and there are many better options.
But it's fun because 1) it's new 2) it enables ALL THE CURSES which you can't really do outside of ID otherwise (i went cat point, adept, mastery amulet myself in my win lol)

Well, Adept 1.7 is anything but lack luster. If you haven't tried it, check it out.

Doomed as a class is special in that it has up to three categories it may want to boost with a category points:
1) Shadows, in order to get a fourth shadow
2) Cursed Aura, if investing 5/5/x/x, because it really simplifies the process of getting the right curses (mostly Nightmares) to level 4
3) Potentially Darkness, which allows for more darkness spawn points with 5/x/x/x investment (I think, not super sure, haven't tested in a while).

This was one of the reasons why Cornac Doomed was a good combination - the extra category point. Now with
the Adept prodigy (even before 1.7), every species can get the goodies.

Not to mention that cunning/survival is locked, which requires another cat point. Unless you are lucky early on with track on an item or a rogue escort, you desperately need it on higher difficulties (Insane or Madness). On my latest infinite dungeon run, I did get lucky with a lite with track early on. Oh boy, it has been a life saver. Without it, I am sure I would have died at least once by now.
