1.6 Strange Crand Corruptor behavior

Took me into Fearscape, after 7-8 turns turned it off, upon returnin had max vim -5.
Maybe he drained it dunno - then why he turned it off?
Someone said GC turned off Fearscape on same turn as he arrived to Fearscape.
English isn't my native language.
