Can't start a game in Ashes Of Urh'Rok

Non steam account. Have both DLCs (I checked my profile page) and Embers works fine.
Both are on the addon directory and are active on the Addon menu inside the game.
However, I can't start a new Ashes character (I know I created one a few years ago before Embers).

Ashes isn't a separate campaign, you can't start a game in it

If you're able to create doombringer or demonologist characters, ashes is on and working fine. If you can't, (though it looks like you've already done this) make sure the dlc folder and proper file are where they need to be, and check in addons to make sure that ashes is actually turned on.

Also check you log file for:
[LOG] #LIGHT_RED#Online profile disabled(switching to offline profile) due to no online profile active.

How about: DLC not granted ?

I'm having a similar problem on a new Win 10 laptop.
I tried disabling UAC fully and that got me the Thankyou for purchasing DLC popups and allowed them.
Tested New Game again and it had finally synched my unlocks.
Upped the UAC again to see what happened and the DLCs were locked again.
Disabled UAC again and now they won't come back.
