UI Inconvenience: Escorts and Artifacts

When you successfully complete an escort quest, you usually are able to mouse over the abilities to see what they do before making your choice.

I found a situation in which these pop-ups no longer show up. I think it's when there is a lore pop-up already on-screen.

I killed a boss, and then looted it the exact same turn my escort made it to the portal. The game then had me conclude the escort quest and select my reward before letting me read or close the lore for the artifact the boss dropped, but wouldn't let me see what the abilities I was selecting from actually did.
