[Embers] Tinker artifacts and iron requirement

#1 Post by Invain »

I am unable to create a Steam Powered Armour due to insufficient iron

I do, however, have enough steel which I assumed would allow me to create an armour of a higher tier

Now, if I check another artifact without having all ingredients, it requires iron

But once I have all ingredients, the requirement changes to voratun

So my question is - what is the actual metal requirement for Tinker artifacts? Do I need to meet the iron requirement even if I want to use a higher tier metal (which doesn't make sense) or do these artifacts always require voratun, in which case it would be nice if they said so from the beginning?

EDIT: I was able to craft the armour after getting 50 voratun, so it's the second case - misleading description

Its always Voratun, but the interface is dodgy.
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

try getting a tier 5 lightning coil and shocking touch, then tell me if it still says iron instead of voratun

To add to this: The interface also does not change when you select others tiers. Not just for these special items, but for all. It always checks from lowest to highest and displays the highest possible match. (not displaying tiers for used tinkers at all)

Having learned the skills seems to be a part of the "lowest to highest", so it will always show the lowest when not learned.

It's confusing for new players to say the least.
