inf spellpower

#1 Post by Ivels »

This bug is a lot less interesting than the title suggests.

I've found a randart mindstar with a mitotic ego (lets you split it into 2). Mindstars are useless for my yeek marauder, but seeing no reason not to split it, I did just that. As it turned out it glitched my character, because upon taking off the set, I've noticed my spellpower showing up as "inf" on the stat bar.

Not as exciting as it sounds, because "inf" is actually zero. My volcanos (gotten of a volcanic wand that I've purchased in Angolwen to test my new INFINITE COSMIC POWERS) do "nan" damage according to the tooltip, or 0 physical and 0 fire according to the combat log. Yuck.

The only way to regain my spellpower is to equip the damned thing. Actually any AM item will do. Interestingly enough, not only do I get my powers back unmolested, I also don't get antimagic disruption. But only if I equip no more than one such item, equipping more results in the expected loss of SP and AM debuff.

So, a word of warning. Resist the temptation and don't split randart mindstars that are both mitotic and AM. Or do, if you want to wear an AM item consequence-free. Or if you just don't care.

Damn rounding errors!

I'll check the code for the Mitotic ego when I can.

Checked the Mitotic Ego, but couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Tested with double greater Mitotic Antimagic mindstars and it doesn't happen.
