Destroyed Gates of Morning restored

I failed to stop the sorcerers's ritual at the Charred Scar, so after finishing the game at High Peak I ended up with Aeryn dead (I let her sacrifice) and Gates of Morning destroyed. I tested that I could not enter it from the world map, the description stated it was ruined, so everything as expected. Well, at this point I was thinking how to get back from the Far East. (I am quite new to the game so perhaps there is some farportal which I do not know.). Ultimately, I entered the Slimy Tunnels and ran through the whole High Peak zone once more and used one of the two farportals again. Surprisingly, using the farportal somehow restored the Gates of Morning with all folks alive and kicking - including sacrificed Aeryn. The whole town acted like nothing happened, farportal was working and took me back to west, also I was able to do the jeweller's quest.
