Permanently off-line vault

#1 Post by Ephialtis »

(v. 1.3.0)
My vault is permanently in offline mode, so that I can only store three items (and there's nothing in it from previous versions -- perhaps that's deliberate, though?). I'm definitely on-line when I start playing each time, and when I finish, and I see chat messages while I'm playing, including announcements of my own and others' achievements. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

I don't understand how you can store three items if you item vault is offline?

A message comes up every time I try to use it, explaining that the off-line vault can be used to store three items, which can only be retrieved if you're playing on the same computer.

It seems there's an offline vault now, which actually caught me by surprise when I was trying to help diagnose this problem. This invalidated game / offline profile bit messing with the vault has been happening to quite a few people suddenly, and I haven't yet been able to figure out precisely why. I suspect it might be related to the issue right after 1.3.0 launch, where downloading 1.2.5 data data when prompted for an old save would result in an invalid module hash. Still unsure thought unfortunately.

Ah, I tried to load old characters, and opted for downloading the data. It didn't help me -- I still couldn't load the old characters -- but it might have made a mess of my vault.

It probably didn't mess up your vault, as that is stored on the server.
Does it work if you start a new character?

No -- I tried. I'll try again, though. I see that there's an update already -- I'll also try down-loading that, and see if it includes a fix. I've just won with my first character, so it hasn't held me back too much....

I'm having the same issue. Got these items I really want to store..

Seems like nothing it going online as in my profile no items show up.

In case it is important I am running Zomibus.

I've installed v.1.3.1 (as a clean install), and started a new character, which I've just got to the vault -- and the problem is exactly the same, off-line only, just three articles. This time I didn't try to load a character from earlier versions, so that's not the issue.

I'm looking into it. I'm not sure yet why this is happening or why it only seems to affect some people.

I had the same issue on one of my machines which had ToME installed around 1.0 or 1.1ish and then constantly updated, but not on a freshly installed system with 1.3 freshly installed. Copying over the ~/.t-engine directory from the fresh install to the older install solved my problem. Maybe an incompatibility or glitch somewhere in there.

Just wanted to post that I'm still experiencing this issue.
I even went so far as to completely delete my profile on the computer and it is still showing offline mode.

Same issue here. The web page shows my online vault with my old stuff, but haven't been able to access it for weeks.
"A very wise choice, sir, if I may say so. Very good." it said. "I'll just nip off and shoot myself."
