[1.3 + Ashes 1.04] Stuck at 100% starting new game (SOLVED)

I was getting stuck at 100% when loading a new game. I tinkered around with the addons and found that it was the Ashes addon that causes the crash.

I had both the 1.00 and 1.04 versions of the addon, and I suspected it was having both that was causing the crashes. So I went to steam and unchecked Ashes under DLC. Strangely enough, when I started the game, only version 1.04 of Ashes vanished, leaving 1.00 behind. I created a new game and it worked, and I could see the new classes.

I then tried to reinstall the addon by checking the box for Ashes, and again I had both 1.00 and 1.04 and the new game wouldn't load properly.

Need some help here. How do I get rid of this clash? Should I just play without the 1.04 version? I cannot disable just one because they seem to be linked - activating one means activating both, if they're both in the addon list.

Edit: Uninstalling Tome4 and reinstalling it doesn't help - already tried.

Have you tried just deleting the 1.0 version file?
