Tirakai's Maul and the Reshape Weapon/Armour talent are both very cool, but they don't play nice together. You can reshape the maul and it properly gets buffed, however if you then use the maul's ability to socket a new gem, the reshape bonuses are lost. The problem is that the maul is still tagged as reshaped, and the reshape talent will not reapply the bonuses unless you level it up, meaning after using the talent at max level, any further gem slotting results in the talent bonuses being permanently lost.
P.S. If the maul's power were tweaked to unsocket the current gem before opening the list of gems to socket, it would allow players to revert the maul to its initial state by cancelling the selection menu without making the socketing process any less convenient.
