oxygen

#1 Post by Radon26 »

I am not sure if its a bug, or someone had a lazy moment, but dealing with oxygen is really annoying.

1) resting
when I press R on land, with oxygen at around 20, it say "all resources full"
so oxygen is not a resource apparently.
(same with energy on items)

2) no escape.
once you start to drawn, you cannot leave the lvl.
suddenly the enterance to the lvl has been covered in a thik, unmelting, unbreakable ice.

3) stopping reason "suffocation"
50 air is missing from the total, yeah, if half of my oxygen is mising, i probably should start thinking about getting bubbles, and not just mindlesly exploring on z.
oh wait, i am a yeek with 2 water rings and coral sshield, i have like 350 air total. I have LOADS of time. (if i remember corectly, yek has 200, and each artefact add 50 right?)

4) you need oxygen, but the fire doesn't. GG

5) unrelated to oxygen, but speaking of fire, how can I burn while i am encaesd in a block of ice?
ah right, what was that excuse, WIZARD DID IT.

i am sure someone could add to it

Regarding 4 and 5,

You feel really clever about nitpicking one or two unrealistic things, but you're missing the hundreds of other obvious impossibilities that exist in ToME as well as every game ever made. Once I met a bishop in real life and he could move any which way he pleased! Obviously chess must be fixed.

You must feel proud of pointing out that there there are more.
My point is not to "pick of some impossibilities, so i am not listing al of them.
Point is the oxygen, and 4 was related to it. 5 i just felt like adding.
If you don't have anything to ADD to it, or solve anything, WTH ARE YOU THERE?!

Nitpicking angrily at minor details just serves to make your main point less visible, as does posting things you're not certain are bugs or oversights in the bugs thread.

You're probably right that Air should be restored fully while resting, and you're probably right that the air check should be some percentage of your maximum air rather than some amount missing from it. And, while negative statuses in general block traversing levels, drowning should probably not.

All of those are reasonably good points.

Number 2 should really be fixed.
