Bluescreen

#1 Post by Aksarov »

So, I know ToME can be quite scary sometimes, but bluescreen in ID is a bit too much.

Regarding what happened before bluescreen, I was just exploring floor 1 of ID, was done with it, but tried to hunt down geomancer that I found in random vault(not the ones with doors, but those, that are walled in and must be dug to), I hit Z(for autoexplore) and then I got bluescreen.

1st, I dont have save, atleast not accurate save, since I have automatic saves turned off and last save is from 30 min earlier.
2nd, I have 2 logs that were generated by windows due to this error.
3rd, at the moment when bluescreen showed up there was one of game sounds playing on what seemed like infinite loop(I think it was either click or menu opening sound).

Dont know if this is problem with my laptop(never happened before), ToME, or some of mods I was using. I'll upload save and logs if needed(or attach them).

no application can cause a bsod by any legal means. if something does cause it, it's driver's/os fault. find your mindump that's saved automatically(google how to do it) and post here the details to find what caused your bsod.

Hy there, I'm attaching minidump and sysdata files generated on BSOD mentioned(I had to put them in .rar since uploader doesnt like .dmp).

Also, I examined .dmp with bluescreenview and it seems that some gfx driver caused this(dxgmms1.sys). As of note, this seems to be isolated case(I've played ToME quite a bit since it happened and it hasnt repeated itself and its 1st time I get BSOD), therefor, could this be caused by random memory error?

I hope someone can get more information out of this than me, as of last note, all drivers are up to date.
