Accepting escort rewards while controlling party member

Was escorting a Thief as a Yeek Brawler. Used Dominant Will to take a nearby Troll. Switched control to the Troll. Escort finished while I was still controlling the Troll. Chose a rank of Heightened Senses, and gave it to my main character. Returned to my character. My survival category is now locked at .8 mastery, instead of the 1.0 mastery it had before.
