unlocking the ice talent tree

hey, so I'm almost certain i've dealt over a million cold damage (I got a staff which does cold damage, am hitting some enemies for over 300 a pop and have been doing so for a while); is there any way to check my progress, and would lua script errors interfere with the achievement? I'm asking about lua script because every time my staff procs ice shards, I get a lua bug, and then move incredibly fast and miss repeatedly for a few rounds.

Esc - Show Achievements - (check) Everything - Cryomancer
This will show your current progress.

Sadly, I've no idea about lua errors, but AFAIK if you kill monster with cold dmg, it won't count towards the achievement. Maybe this has been fixed already, I don't know.
