[1.2.2] Alchemist Protection Did Not Protect Merchant

Hello, I was attempting to rescue the merchant from the TRAPPED! quest and accidentally blew him up despite having 5/5 points in Alchemist Protection.

This probably should not be allowed to happen?

Alchemist Protection and Spellcraft state they protect you (and you golem).
So not actually a bug, just a very annoying game feature.

The current version of Alchemist Protection states it protects "you, your golem, and other friendly creatures."

The merchant is not friendly, he is neutral. Friendly creatures remain friendly if you hurt them, while neutral become hostile.
Summons and escorts are friendly, while the same problem happens for the wayist for instance.

Why wouldn't the Merchant become friendly after choose "ATTACK" in the assassin lord dialog? That should be the same type of trigger as accepting an Escort quest for turning one NPC hostile and the other friendly. It does the hostile bit!

Well it might cause the Assassin Lord to attack the Lost Merchant.
