Fearless Cleave - Bugged, Bugged, Bugged

#1 Post by Davion Fuxa »

Well, update 1.2.2 made the skill usable enough to really test it out - and find more bugs.

Apparently if you attempt to use Fearless Cleave into a wall or while immobilized in some way, you exectute the move. I can understand that it might be set up to work this way but I figure it should probably at least not work if you try to use the skill in the direction of an adjacent wall or if you use it in a direction in which you won't hit anything with the Fearless Cleave action.

Doesn't seem like a bug at all to me. Imagine the following situation: Immediately north of your position is a pillar. Northeast and northwest of your position (flanking the pillar) are two enemies at 1 HP each. Sure would be nice to be able to use Fearless Cleave to kill both of them, right? There is a reason that the ability has a clause that reads "if you failed to move, you do x% damage."

Most AoE abilities can be activated without valid targets. Death Dance, for example, can be used without any enemies in LOS.

While that is a tactic, one would have to think that the pillar would block the Cleave. Additionally, too many talents that are usable when enemies aren't in LoS has caused too many enemies attacking you to pre-emptively use their talents at the wrong time - notable mention here to Orc Fire Wyrmics with Bellowing Roar.

In many ways Fearless Cleave should work more similar to a range 2 Rush with a Sweep effect.

Edit: I actually experienced a better example of what Fearless Cleave should be like - a range 2 Spinning Backhand.
