Game crushing when zoned to the Sludgenest lvl1

First it took an indefinite time to load the sludgenest location (I had the guts to wait only for 30 mins or so). After killing the ToME process and restarting the game I appear on a black screnn instead of local/world map with a bunch of interface errors popping up each time I try to do something. Rod of recalling leads to nothing. I wonder is that can somehow be solved, or I have just to forfeit the character and try again from the zero. Screenshot included, and I reported it several time in-game.
