Grand Corrupter bug

Hey, wanna start my first post by saying I absolutely love this game. It has been such a blast and i fully intend on dropping 10 or 15 USD on it when i get a bit of money in my pocket.

So anyways while fighting the Grand Corrupter in the mark of the spellblaze i encountered a bug.

I was fighting him as a lvl 25 Archmage specializing in fire magic(im going for the pyromancer achievement, currently at 750,000 yay ^^) and I was basically beating him easilly with a bed of Inferno sprinkled with liberal use of flame and fireflash while defending against his attacks with a maxed displacement shield and a reflection shield rune both powered by Aegis, of course healing when needed.

All was going well till he decided to "Turn up the heat", "Fight fire with fire", take your pick. He pulled us both into the fearscape. But too bad for him I'm a fire mage so I was decked out with fire resist/fire damage equips so I wasn't even slightly afraid. But... while fighting him I guess he killed me... or... something(even tho both my shields were up and I was sitting at about 450~ HP) cause I was dragged in front of the death arbiter dude suddenly even tho im 100% positive that was my last life and my adventure should have been over.

but the crazy thing is that the second I appear in the death realm then that dialogue box shows up where the corrupter asks you to join him to fight the Zigur. I'm all for that cause I wanted to unlock the corrupter class anyway so I agree but nothing happens. it wont accept my selection and I cant get the dialogue box to go away either. I cant even quit the game so I end up having to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end the process via the task manager.

When i restart the game and load my save I'm back in death space and it allows me to be teleported back to face a now fully healed Grand Corrupter. I defeat him super easy this time since he doesn't pull any fearscape shenanigans. but as i sorta expected, this time he doesnt give the option to join him. so no Corrupter unlock for me this run =( oh well, he dropped a pretty sweet flamewalker robe so that's good enough for me.

So now I'm alive even tho when i inspect myself it says "lives remaining 0" lol.


PS: im aware this was a long winded bug report but i figured i could share my epic tale and report the bug in one post instead of 2 =). anyways, cheers.

Fun bug report. Just so you know, "lives remaining: 0" refers to extra lives from adventure mode, so that part is working as intended.

I see. well now I'm confused cuz for whatever reason I was sure I was on my last life when I first started that fight for the first time but now I'm not so sure. I felt lucky at the time for getting a "free" life due to this bug but I guess all I got was Not getting to unlock Corrupter. its a bummer but still... Weird experiences like this keep things interesting. Like when I was playing my paradox mage and Precognition ended and when time reverted I was standing next to myself. xD.

Call me crazy but I like when games have little, funny, non harmful hick-ups. ^^
