[1.0.1] Can't kill some NPCs

I've encountered two NPCs I can't kill. Their HPs get to unknown, and I "kill" them (i.e. it says so on the screen), but they stay on screen, and I get no experience for killing them.

Ok, I"ve discovered it only ever happens with a ammo dropped by a rare, that does arcane damage on hit and light burst damage on crit. Why this is the case, I've no idea.

ok, I was wrong re the rare ammo. It happens regularly, with any ammo. I think after Scatter Shot, but I still can't spot the pattern.
