There is some kind of a bug going on with Cease to Exist, where monsters are duplicated. I have ran into it twice with my character Bones of Time (Skeleton Paradox Mage), after using Cease to Exist only a handful of times.
First time the enemy was I think rare, it was in Damp Cave that spawned in Daikara, second time it was the Daikara boss.
First time (in the damp cave) I cast cease to exist on the rare bandit and proceeded to kill him. After killing him, the time rewound to the moment I cast Cease to Exist, but the boss was still there. Then something weird happened (I think this is how it happened, not 100% sure): I killed the boss another time, and it appeared again. This time there was no backtracking. I had to kill him three times. Anyway, what is certain is that I had to at least kill him again once after Cease to Exist was successful.
Second time, I cast Cease to Exist on a snow giant thunderer that was part of the mob the Daikara boss dragon was in. I managed to kill the thunderer with DoT damage while it was outside my field of view. Agains all is good and Cease to Exist triggers, we go back in time. But lo and behold there are now two boss dragons! I don't know if the fact that the boss dragon moved one space at the same time as I cast Cease to Exist has anything to do with the bug, but there was one dragon in the spot where it was before I cast and one where it moved when I cast it.
Both times, I got duplicate loot from the monsters, except that I didn't get the same artifact from both dragons.
