[1.0] Win XP freezup

I'm playing a rogue, and I'm still at the start of the game (2nd or 3rd area), and I get a random system freeze after a while. Nothing to do but hard reset. I saw in another thread that video driver may be causing problems... I'll try dropping some visual effects and see what happens, but I still wanted to report here.
