That is, a rare ring can have a gem added to it in Angolwen/Gates of Morning.

Presumably applies to rare necklaces and Gem of the Moon quest as well.

If you do this, the ring will have its name changed to the usual (gem) Ring, will be rare colored in the menu, and will have all of its old bonuses as well as the rare equip bonuses.

I don't *think* this was intended.
