Freezes and deletes savegame

I'm on the latest beta38 on windows 7 64 bit. AMD Llano mobile, drivers etc have been stable with everything else so far.

This is really pissing me off. Every time I hit a loading screen and it starts to save, there's about a 10% chance it will just freeze between "saving 0%" and "Saving 11%". I mean "program not responding" even if I leave it sit for an hour kind of freezing as though it's crashed, not my harddrive is slow and it hangs. I have to Ctrl-al-delete and kill the process. Doing so removes my savegame.

There's no real pattern to it I can determine, and it's eaten EVERY SINGLE GAME of mine.

Try disabling the auto save feature in the game options menu to see if the problem goes away.
