[b37] crashes/nonresponsive

Hi,

I'm running win 7 64 bit on an i7 920, with a radeon 6970 (in case hardware needs to be compared). 6970 with latest drivers. I've tried running windows xp sp2 compatibility, sp3, windows 7, etc.

game crashes constantly, and I'm not sure the cause. When it crashes, the entire system becomes unresponsive.

In looking through my te4 log I see errors, maybe this is a part of it? attached.

Same thing happens to me, game and computer crash/freezes after like 10-20 minutes and I have to press the reset button on my computer. I'm running windows 7 64 bits with i5 2500k and Radeon HD 6900.

I've run tome with little to no problems using windows 7 x64 on a radeon 6850 & amd cpu.

When b37 first came out I had the same crash (lua panic) but could not reproduce it; and now it doesn't affect me...

"Methods" for more Stability:
1. Run as Administrator
2. Run in xp compatibility mode
3. Set your resolution to 800x600, then your resolution of choice.
--A. Change your resolution
--B. Change to a non-standard resolution (window resize)
+For speed, drag the window as quickly as possible to the side for the half-screen thing that Windows 7 does.

You can always try the no-music version of tome, or try completely removing tome and then reinstalling to see if that changes anything.

For me what fixed the problem was right clicking on t-engine.exe, choosing 'properties' from the compatibility tab, ticking 'disable desktop composition' and voila it worked without crashing!

Running as admin with disable desktop composition and it still hardlocked my computer after ten minutes.

It's quite ridiculous to have a program that crashes the whole computer at this point...

Hi there,

im forced to post my issues as well. Im big fan of roguelikes (unfortunately those rogues, on my PC, are beginning to bore me, how many can I play the same thing?) - so i wanted to start my adventures with a new one. At the YouTube I saw Playthrough of the game and intrigued me with his new, fresh approach to the topic (eg, simplified interface), but unfortunately turned out that my computer is too weak at at least one sense (I guess that it is a Radeon graphics card). I attach a screenshot to show what appears to me after loading screen and a fragment of DxDiag.

I hope my issue can be solved


PS: I hope that my written English is understandable?

PS 2: Should I attach something else? Are in the game folder something like error dumps?

From another bug post here's one more tip to avoid crashes/non-responsive behavior in Windows 7.

Do not launch the game from the taskbar. For whatever reason using a shortcut from the taskbar will randomly, but most of the time, cause issues such as a blank screen, no sound, or the process just doesn't run.

Using a shortcut from the Desktop (assuming other major game affecting variables are negligible) however, does not cause this extra instability.
