[b36] My own worst enemy.
So I'm doing Daikara with my L20 Dwarven Berserker. After clearing level 4, I recalled to the surface to sell off a bunch of stuff before coming back to do level 5. When I entered the dungeon again, the game was practically unresponsive it was so slow. Autoexplore would move me one or two steps in 10 seconds and then stop. Resting took several seconds per turn, all keyboard commands were really laggy, etc. I saved/quit/restarted, same problem. I recalled out of the dungeon to the wilderness, where everything was speedy-quick as usual. Went back into the dungeon, back to being ultra-slow. I discovered that autoexplore would keep working if I held down one of the arrow keys, although it was still 2-3 seconds per move. Finally I reached the stairs to the next level... only to find that I was already there! There was an NPC copy of me (green border) standing on the stairway. I can't seem to find a way to move him off the stairs. I even tried initiating combat, but I can't seem to hurt him. So 1) obviously this is a bug and I want to report it, but then 2) how do I proceed with my game? Does anyone know of a way for me to move the other me off the stairs so I can go down, or circumvent this problem somehow? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Happened to me in Derth. Ended up with a copy sitting on the exit. I managed to Phase-Door him away. Do you have any ways of moving people around? Targeted teleports, or maybe knockback stuff?
Edit : Turns out I could kill my clone. I guess you're just too tough for yourself? Funny thing, though. It gave me the "red screen of doom" as I damaged my copy. I half suspected it to count as a death, but the game didn't seem to mind when he died.

Re: [b36] My own worst enemy.
Both good thoughts. Unfortunately as a berserker I don't think there's any way I can get controlled phase door/teleport, and the stairs are at the end of a straight corridor so I can't use knockback to move him. I tried tidal wave and glyph of repulsion but they didn't work either. Tidal wave actually damaged him, which would be great if it didn't take 60 turns to recharge (by which time he was back to full health). And I don't seem to be able to dig the walls in Daikara, so I think I'm sort of screwed. Anyone have a fancy way I can cheat him out of there?

Also (this may or may not be related, what do I know) my OS X console log is getting spammed with ~100 copies of this message every six seconds or so:

Dig some empty room to his both sides and use tidal wave (from one side) to move him to other side. Maybe it works?
