[b35] escort freeze

Ok, this is what I think happened:

My escort walked onto their portal and the window for choosing your reward popped up but the game froze at that point. It looks like my (rather injured) escort walked onto the portal which also happened to contain a lightning trap triggered it and died to it from the ingame log. Can't see anything that matches that in the log file though.

Ideas?
