Zemekkys quest not triggering?

First off, I just started playing ToMe a few days ago, and just signed up for the forum this evening; I hope I'm not breaking protocol or anything here, or that my problem isn't just coming from ignorance of the proper plot progression.

I've just made it to the Eastern continent and out of the unremarkable cave. I talked to Aeryn like I was supposed to, and she let me in; I then talked to her again, and she recommended I talk to Zemekkys and show him my Orb of Many Ways. Going to Zemekkys's house doesn't give me any option but "Sorry, I have to go", however, and Aeryn telling me to talk to him didn't give me any new quests or update any that I currently have. I'm not sure if it should have, since this is my first time in Gates of Morning, but I feel pretty sure that I should be able to talk to Zemekkys, since I've been told to. I also don't seem to have any other plot leads.

Is there something wrong with my game? Am I missing an item that's required for things to trigger properly? Am I just jumping the gun with a bug report and there's something else I need to do first?

Once again, I apologize if this wasn't the proper place to put this or if I'm wasting anyone's time.

Zemekkys should speak to you, and Aeryn should give you a line about the orc prides which triggers the next main quest.

Same problem here, happens if game shuts down for any reason after arriving in East but before talking to Filarel.

Still happens in b38, unfortunately.
