Chat interface doesn't buffer input chars

If you type faster than your computer can draw the silly exploding "enter chat text" window, then your chat statements will be missing the first few characters that you type. For example, if you type "<Space> Run!" and the game doesn't manage to draw the input window until you've pressed "u", then the chat window will only see "un!" and you'll look like an idiot in public.
