[b31] Game crashing when leaving orc ambushes in Far East

#1 Post by core »

Just like the topic says. After I kill all orcs in the orc ambush and try to re-enter the World Map the game crashes

Ok I think I know where this comes from, and I have a temporary fix.

I have altered the profiles server so that anybody (logged into a profile) that starts tome will have a fix applied automatically, this does not modify any files on the disk so the fix is only temporary for the session.

I seem to be having a similar (if not the same) problem. Whenever I try to exit onto the worldmap in the East with this character, the game crashes. I can recall to the fortress and do farportals no problem, but again when I try to exit to the worldmap, crash.

Complicating that problem, the character also is having trouble with the online profile. When I start him up, it says "Online profile disabled due to no active profile" or something like that. This happens even if I'm logged into my online profile. Someone suggested that my character wasn't validated, which I assumed might have been a result of me turning on cheat mode temporarily to escape the farportal slime level (cheat mode was turned off right afterwards).

Anyway, the game is now unplayable except for farportal levels. Any suggestions? The little guy is one of my better characters so far...

And I don't know anything about GDB, but should I send a save of the character or anything like that?

Same thing here [b31].. if I reload and exit an orc ambush it crashes again. Here is what I have in te4_log.txt:

I tried that character again maybe a week after my last post. After the break, it stopped throwing up the "online profile disabled" message and I was able to resume normal play, so I assume whatever fix is being pushed over the online server did the trick.

The worldmap was still really laggy and still had the mountains bleeding into the surrounding terrain, but I was able to win the game with that guy.
