Character Stuck Forever in Random Level

I used the flying fortress random portal ability, and got sent to a random forest level. I followed the stairs down and killed the "final" boss which dropped the escape portal. Before following it however, I decided to check the stairs up and kill the monsters that direction, which doing so revealed that the levels are randomized upon every re-entry.

Since the level with the escape portal got randomly re-made, the portal disappeared and now I'm kinda stuck.

I've tried following the stairs up, but they appear to be endless (I started on level 1, then followed the stairs upward to level -30 or so before quitting).

I don't suppose there is any way to get my character fixed, but at least I can say the random level idea is pretty cool, although 30 fortress energy may be a bit much if the random maps only go to level 2 (I'm assuming the negative levels are a bug also).

This is fixed for next beta.

You can "fix" your character if you don't mind cheating. If you cheat, you're character will no longer be in the online vault.

I've found that 30 fortress energy isn't too much at all, and this is before traveling east, where the loot is even better. Also, the random zones can have greater than 2 levels--it's random(-ish).

Will I still be able to get unlocks? The primary purpose of my current character is to unlock everything I lost when I switched computers. If so, then I wouldn't mind doing whatever edit is necessary.

Hmm, I glanced at the code, and it looks like you should be able to get unlocks after cheating (I'm not 100% absolutely sure, though). You should still probably turn off cheating once you're finished with it, and it wouldn't hurt to sign off your online profile while you're cheating, too. Here's how to activate cheat mode:
