Infinite Wyrm because of himself - but not dead

So the log says:

Thing is he started with so -21billlion resist lightning. :-/

This has happened previously (or similar stuff), but the the unit would be immobile this storm wyrm is following me around. :-/

Something's fishy with a lightning related talent. After having taken the Fall of Zigur quest, my archmage got teleported to Zigur with a few Rhalore elves, including an elven tempest. After being attacked by the tempest, protector Myssil ended up with -2M HPs...

It's a known issue with Lightning Speed, though I am not familiar enough with Protector Myssil to know if that is an ability she has. Players can 'benefit' from the bug as well: their negative HP will reset after they level, but their lightning resist won't, and if they get hit by lightning again they will become "immortal" once more.

Myssil indeed has Lightning Speed. Thankfully when I did it to unlock corruptors her defenders were kind enough to kill the tempest that came with me, so was able to turn her into a charbroiled halfling. From everything she does have, I pity the melee class that tries to take her on

This has happened many times to me, and (I think) lightning resistance was always the problem. I once had an elemental sword and attacked a storm wyrm for 304 physical damage, 12 fire damage, 10 cold damage, -21457869067 lightning damage, and 8 nature damage. On every strike. I had to phase door away, run away from the now immortal -2 billion hp storm wyrm and quickly find the stairs to the next level. I also found that if I tried to go back to the level with the -2 billion hp storm wyrm, the game would crash saying it was sent a NULL or NIL value when a number was expected.

It's the Lightning Speed bug. Known beta 24 bug. Happens to Wyrmics who use the talent, and to monsters who use the talent.

If a monster uses Lightning Speed, then its lightning resistance gets set to "almost negative infinity" when it wears off. If the monster is hit by lightning damage after that point, its HP (Life) gets set to "almost negative infinity", and the monster becomes immortal. At that point you can't do anything except get away from it -- hopefully off the level.

Fixed in post-b24 SVN. There is no workaround in b24. If you are doing Tempest Peak, this is going to happen to you, because a huge fraction of the monsters there have Lightning Speed and/or lightning damage. It could also happen in Daikara, or the wyrmic Orc pride zone.

This happened to me as well... I then led the wyrm off and teleported away and kept on playing the level.

The client however crashed a little bit later and now whenever I load my character its just a blackscreen......am I screwed or can this be resolved?

Level 23 fighter...not a huge loss if he is toast but still annoying....
