sometimes my summons target enemies that don't exist, and just stand around doing nothing. There may have been a few isolated incidents earlier, but this started in earnest in the Dreadfell. I first noticed it being a major problem around floor 6, when several summons showed up targeting a ghoul when there was none in the area. I was right next to a vault at the time, and assumed that they were somehow targeting something in the vault, but even after that, they would sometimes randomly shift their targeting to a nonexistent ghoul. Even in the Ambush, when there was nothing around but orcs.
Additionally, invisible creatures seem to confuse summons, making them fire off their AoE abilities in random directions, including straight at the player. My only death so far on my current Yeek summoner came from my own hydra, when some mummy wrappings down a perpendicular corridor went invisible. I can understand that happening when they're blinded, but invisibility shouldn't make my own minions rebel against me.
Summoned critter targeting

Re: Summoned critter targeting
Probably related to the level loop bug: critters standing on the edge of a level can target enemies standing on the other side of the level.
Re: Summoned critter targeting
That is intended, and what NPCs do if the player gets invisibility (a very fun way to go by the way).itastelikelove wrote: Additionally, invisible creatures seem to confuse summons, making them fire off their AoE abilities in random directions...
Ah quite... well that is definitely unintended and a bug. I don't have a lot of time to test these days, so if you get hit by a hydra's breath please immediately save the stdout and post the hydra's tactical AI output for me to have a peek at (more info here: http://forums.te4.org//viewtopic.php?f=42&t=25050). It would also help to have an idea of the layout, so maybe a screenshot? If you can see the invisible creature that would be even better.... including straight at the player. <DarkGod> lets say it's intended

OK, I'll try to get that for you if it happens again. Maybe when I've got time, i'll go back to that dungeon and go fishing for pain.yufra wrote: Ah quite... well that is definitely unintended and a bug.
