B20: problem with monsters using Tidal Wave
The Tidal Wave spell, when used by monsters (don't know about players), has a cooldown value LOWER than its radius. This means that it never wears off, as the monster recasts it as soon as the cooldown reaches zero. Unless you have 100% knockback immunity or you play a spellcaster, the monster can't be killed...

Can you give some more information? A quick search of the tome directory shows several NPCs with talent level 5 Tidal Waves, but I am not sure that is enough to have the radius/cooldown effect you are describing. Is it specific NPCs you have seen do this?
<DarkGod> lets say it's intended

It's the same with mages. The duration of high level tidal wave is longer then the cooldown creating overlapping effects when the talent level is high (Quicken Spell makes this even better/more obscene depending on your perspective, I'm a huge fan of overlapping Tidal Waves so...)
Knockback Resist is pretty common though and you don't NEED 100% immunity to resist. Also Physical Saves apply so there's that option too (Savior Rings early game are great for save stacking, easy to find, and can supplement or even replace immunities for at least most of the west, haven't really tested for the east).
Rod of Annulment is another option if you're lucky enough to find one.
Personally I've had great success luring Tidal Wave using bosses out of their Wave and stunning them before they get another one off. Did Kor'Pul and OF without taking a single hit from Tidal Wave recently, though both bosses cast it. It's the damage I worry about more then the knockback. Eating 40 extra damage a round can add up, especially if you get stunned in a wave.
