I have killed Urkis the High Tempest, and gone back to Linaniil.
She acknowledges Urkis is defeated and discusses the reward i.e. what I think is a new lightning skill tree. However when I level up, I do not see this tree as an option. How does this reward work?
Also when I killed Urkis, there was a single item drop that was for a fighter class. No mage type items. Is this normal?

Re: Linaniil Reward Query
First of all, the unlock you get for archmage (the lighting tree) only appears on future characters I believe. This will be changed in 1.7 where all of the unlockable trees are accessible from the beginning. secondly, boss drops across the entire game are randomized, so it's not uncommon to get drops from them that don't match them or what your character needs.

The reward for defeating Urkis and finishing the Storming the City quest is Dispersion, the ability to dispel an opponent’s sustains:
Storm is a separate matter. It’s not part of a special reward, just a simple unlockable: the first time you finish Storming the City in any way, with any character, you make the tree available for Archmages—and only for them, which is why you didn’t see anything new as an Alchemist. Any archmage you create from now on will have access to the tree.
- Antimagic characters who do it through Zigur and/or are rewarded by Protector Myssil will have their Mana Clash talent updated with the effect (and have the Fungus tree revealed, unlocked or upgraded);
- Arcane characters who do it through Angolwen and/or are rewarded by Linaniil will get the Rune of Dissipation, which does the same job.

As Just a dood wrote, that’s normal. You can get swords while playing mages and staves while playing warriors, arcane items while playing antimagic characters and antimagic gear while playing arcane characters. Some bosses drop fixed, specific items, but they’re are an exception—the spoils are almost always random.Ravensclaw wrote:Also when I killed Urkis, there was a single item drop that was for a fighter class. Thank you Duck...
That answers my question. I killed Urkis as an Alchemist.
I am an alchemist who specialized in lightning. Is it possible to get this new Lightning tree from an Escort Mission?

If they do, they don’t come asking for help. Anorithil escorts have been removed.Slough wrote:I just checked out the link, Anorithils don't get lost anymore?
