Orc heart - ingredient for Alchemist Quest

Hi, mates. First-timer here.

I got one of those alchemist quest requiring a orc heart. I found on wiki that one might drop in trollmere or old forest. I have cleaned the two areas now, but none orc was there. Does that mean the quest is actually failed?

Also I noticed in order to play orc you have to buy DLC pack Embers of Rage first. I have not. Is that reason I found no orc in forest?

Don't worry, there are plenty of other areas in which it's possible to encounter orcs, and you don't need the DLC.

It's the most common enemy in the game, you'll find hundreds of orc hearts if you progress far enough!

The alchemist quest doesn't have a timer. In fact, some of the ingredients you won't run into until around halfway through the game.

Luckily, the orc heart isn't one of them. But they do get more plentiful the further you go through the game.

I did encounter many orcs now (just killed the Master). One ingredient I still don't have, the only one right now, is a multi-hued wyrm scale. But I understand they are quick rare, right?

There's a guaranteed multi-hued wyrm scale not that long after dreadfell.

Yeah they aren't the slightest bit rare.
