Could you Explain "floating" skills?

Have a really dumb question? Ask it here to get help from the experts (or those with too much time on their hands)

Could you Explain "floating" skills?

#1 Post by Tbagzwell »

Hi!

I've notice in a few guides and posts mentioning of floating some skills until you level up and unlock stronger ones. I assume then the purpose is to put points into skills until a better skill or skills are available and then re-allocating.

How is this done though, after some time I am unable to re-allocate skill points from undesired or obsolete skills.

Could someone explain to me how to do this the right way? Am I missing something?

Thanks!!

You remove the skill points on each level and reapply them, which refreshes the level counter for how many levels you can still get them back. IIRC.

And like you surmised, it's to give yourself an early game boost to skills that are initially helpful but become obsolete or sub-optimal. Like for an archmage where you're going to specialize in an element later on, but in the early to mid game having tri-beam works well.
