I need clarification about the Accuracy Bonus descriptor.

#1 Post by DieMarlboroManDie »

I was just wondering if somebody might clarify this one little misunderstanding for me: everything.

For example, when I see "Accuracy Bonus: +0.5% APR/acc", well, I cannot seem to deduce any mathematical answers applying .005(APR/acc) that result in anything I can understand in my stats.

On other weapons, I see variations of the same idea: percentage multiplied by a ratio of two derived stats. On the staves, it makes even less sense to me because I don't understand what "proc" means on top of my previous ignorance.

How do I read the Accuracy Bonus so that I can determine what it is? I feel very certain that it is not intended to be determined the way I have suggested above.

If anyone would take the time to give me a basic explanation of how to understand it, I would really appreciate it. I've tried to find an explanation on my own but failed.

I'm just trying to play this game with as little reliance on any outside information about the game as possible, except for the definitions of things and the mechanics, where understanding seems necessary. Basically, I am trying to avoid spoilers and just make a go at it with my first choice of character until I bungle my way to a victory and some understanding.

Dying a lot and having fun doing it--and learning. But not understanding this is driving me a bit batty.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for anyone who can help me and is willing to take the time.

Accuracy bonus works as follows: while attacking in melee or ranged, you get a bonus equal to (acc.bonus) * (your accuracy - target defense).

Procs are talents that trigger on attack. While attacking, all talents that trigger as a consequence get a damage boost.

Yup, that's why it doesn't just show you the stats.
