Where in the menu is the difficulty/permadeath option?

Where in the menu is the difficulty/permadeath option?

I haven't played TOME for the last 6 months, and it turns out that last time I played it I was on exploration mode. I want to switch to adventure or roguelike mode, but I cannot find the option anywhere. So... Can anyone help a dummy like me find something that's probably right in front of his face? Thanks!

It is not in the Options menu, if you seek there. Difficulty and permadeath settings are instead selected in the New game screen, just above the Race and Class list.
A bus station is a place where buses stop.
A train station is a place where trains stop.
