Playing offline

#1 Post by liondriel »

Hi there,

I'm playing ToME on my laptop a lot, and over the weekend I'll be hitting the road for a trip, likely without (much, if any) internet. So far, it looks like I'll be largely screwed, ToME-wise. I understand that I need to be online to start a game with all my unlocks, that makes sense. But, do I really need to be online to load a save game? It looks like it, but that would mean I can't really play on the road offline, unless I play a dead vanilla, no-unlocks version.

Any help here?

Oh, don't worry. Your unlocks are stored on your computer, and you are perfectly safe to play offline.

You may experience trouble with the Stone Warden donator addon when trying to load a game offline. If that happens, just tick the "Ignore incompatible addons" checkbox and load the game again.

As long as its not a separate computer thefe should be no issue; saves and achievements are stored loxally as well as onlie, at least for me (or, well, saves are only local because im unable to donate).

What os are you running? If windows, there should be a user/profilename/TE4/ folder where the saves are located.

That, exactly that, the Stone Warden thing. And indeed, I can now normally access my saved game offline. Brilliant, thanks guys, you saved me for that trip. Now the seat next to the power plug in the train will come in really handy. ;)
