Was doing good with my first Shalore Archmage (on normal) to get past the starting zone, lol. She's level 28, lightning specced, has some nice stuff transferred to her. Despite some embarassing early deaths I've been getting the hang of her.
So in Caldera, time was running low and I didn't want to go through a dream sequence. Was full health, 150/400 mana with the shield up. Decided since I was in the left part of the zone I'd just teleport randomly and get closer to the boss.
Wound up teleporting RIGHT NEXT to a rare monster which immediately attacked before I could do anything. SLASH. 1 shotted through my shield and all my HPs. Out of all the spaces in the zone I could have wound up in.
Nearly the same thing happened to my Time Warden at level 1 in starter zone. Turned a corner, rare uses Slash. 1 hit killed. Nerf slash.

A couple years ago I had a savefile corrupting bug on High Peak with a character that was doing well.
I think that character would have been my first win without the bug.

Not so much "bad luck," but I have Temporal Warden on High Peak on Insane/Adv, and I can't continue because of performance issues. It took a week of play time to get there, but I doubt the save can be fixed so I'll probably just end up deleting it eventually.
