50%xp penalty on character
lvl 10 by end of 2nd floor, died several times (on my last life now).
floors say I yawn and should spend time elsewhere... and a room packed with low lvl enemies can be mowed down like nothing after the first few character lvls,
but i did 1 vault and they were almost 20 lvls above me, killed me several times, and chased me all over as I hid inside walls and barely survived before picking them all off.
so, design character to be able to open a vault and then the ordinaries are usually nothing (i did get killed on some other runs by a few packs of mages but had almost no gear at the time), but a single character able to take on a very large vault with dozens of monsters about 15 or so lvls higher than myself and live makes it seem like its my character that is super powered, yet that is the way the game is.
so should i put more xp penalty? but that can be such a turn-off and without the hp i would have been dead on the first lvl as often happens.
what kind of character lvl would be normal to be by each ID lvl?
how does this lvling and stuff sound?

Re: how does this lvling and stuff sound?
er, is exp .5 means 50%, right?
"#GOLD#Life per level:#LIGHT_BLUE# 20",
"#GOLD#Experience penalty:#LIGHT_BLUE# 50%",
"#GOLD#Heal Modifier:#LIGHT_BLUE# -25%",
"#GOLD# You have no need to breathe.#LIGHT_BLUE#",
},
inc_stats = { str=2, con=2, mag=2, wil=2, lck=5},
experience = .5,
healing_factor = .75,
life_rating = 20,
cause i just tried this and some enemies on lvl 1 of ID and 1 vault of lvl 8 spiders got me to lvl 11 although i did die once but still have almost no gear (8 steel greatswords and 4 iron gauntlets) and this is a gear heavy race.

Re: how does this lvling and stuff sound?
hm, i set xp to .25, thinking -75% penalty but am already lvl 18 on first lvl of ID with more enemies left.
but i tried xp 2.0 and thought that was doing it fast when it had me get lvl 10 on 2nd floor.
---
i lost all my lives on lvl 1 of ID at characer lvl 18.

Re: how does this lvling and stuff sound?
ok, it goes the other way, i set it at 10 and was lvl 3 when finished ID first floor. lvl3 alive vs lvl 18 dead.
Re: how does this lvling and stuff sound?
Since you're in this forum all alone I thought I'd show up. Quick question, why didn't you just crack open the birth file for... Shalore, perhaps? Just to see how exp penalty worked.
A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.
Re: how does this lvling and stuff sound?
i had originally looked at stuff but i was getting weird results so started messing around to see how it was working on this character (race) since ive altered various things.
