See the Thread
How it's work?
I mean, sometimes bosses drop all three times drop the same shit (and it is real shit).
Is it legit\normal?
Tempest Peak also had Harkor Zun, I used See the Thread on Urkis, three times he drop the same - crappy randart.
So I could not use StT second time on Harkor Zun.
Enormously disappointed...

Re: See the Thread
hmmm maybe loot is generated together with the mob, and not on its death?
Re: See the Thread
Why would the bosses have different loot in three possible immediate futures?
Your actions don't alter what the boss decided to wear that morning.

Re: See the Thread
It works on some bosses, not on others.

Yeah, but it works on other.HousePet wrote:Why would the bosses have different loot in three possible immediate futures?

Re: See the Thread
In my experience, it works on most zone bosses, Norgos (both versions), Urkis and the Grand Corruptor (could be wrong on this one) being exceptions. It doesn't work on random bosses (except for Harkor Zun if you cast See the Threads just before it spawns, but of course it won't do you any good if you can't kill it really fast.)

Re: See the Thread
I think the rule is that it works on bosses that have a specific artifact associated with them. For instance, Bill and his trunk, or the Rhaloren inquisitor and the rod of annulment. In that case, there is a probability that this artifact is replaced with a random other one and it is determined at the boss death. Otherwise, if there is no specific artifact associated to a boss, his artifact is randomly selected at the boss creation and there is no replacement whatever the threads....
Re: See the Thread
I think it's never meant to work on drops. The fact that it sometimes does is a bug, or at least not intended.

Re: See the Thread
Yeah, I thought that too, Urkis often have Storm Bringer's Gauntlets, but this time Urkis gave me crappy tier 3 dagger. Not so crappy actually, but compared to any non-randart it is a crap.ghostbuster wrote:I think the rule is that it works on bosses that have a specific artifact associated with them. Well, I think it used to work for stuff like the Necromancer level coffins, and THAT was fixed, and it seems similar enough to me...GlassGo wrote:Zonk wrote:I think it's never meant to work on drops. The fact that it sometimes does is a bug, or at least not intended.I don't think so. (c)

Re: See the Thread
I think the way it works is all NPCs actually have inventory. For most of them, what they drop will be what they were carrying. Bill and co. are coded to always use their items, but don't always drop them. That roll has to happen on their death, rather than on zone load or something, for See the Threads to work as it does.ghostbuster wrote:I think the rule is that it works on bosses that have a specific artifact associated with them. Re: See the Thread
Chronomancy is not supposed to be able to allow loot scumming.

Re: See the Thread
So what is the use of see the threads? In any other circumstance, I'd rather have the turn it takes to use.
Re: See the Thread
Testing out different tactics without the risk.

Re: See the Thread
I thought that the restriction of one use per zone was the desired balance for item drop scumming, seeing as it works on some bosses and makes the skill interesting. Can't imagine putting a point on it if this gets "fixed".
