And what trolling did he once commit that was so memorable that Bill was immortalized as Bill the Stone Troll?

I will be disappointed if there isn't a story behind this.

As far as I know it's a reference to The Hobbit's William "Bill" the troll. ToME was originally Tales of Middle Earth, so I suspect that was a factor. I'd love to hear anecdotes from anyone who's played the older versions, assuming they go beyond "Yep, that's Bill."

It's definetely the Tolkien toll. He even had his 'mates' around, once.

Maybe I am getting confused, I am not saying he spawned with the other named trolls, but they were definetely around as uniques. If not in the first version of this ToME, in ToMe 2.
