Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.

Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
I'm building a Doomed character with the goal of taking down Atamathon. I'm going to play anti-magic but that leaves me with a noteworthy problem:
How do I get rid of his reflecting skin sustain if I'm anti-magic and thus, cannot use Gloves of Dispersion?

Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
Manaclash him, naturally. I think it's a mana sustain.
Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
Manaclash may drain him so he never put it up, but it won't dispel it so you have to be very careful with that.
You may be able to silence him as well, probably silence then manaclash fairly early would be the way to go. Not sure how hard it is to get past his saves for a silence.
I don't think a doomed AM can actually remove it, just prevent it.

If an actor's mana goes below 1, it disables all mana sustains. Just don't kill yourself with reflected manaclash.

I thought it had a duration on it.

Well I assume its this talent:

So then it is a sustain and would go away, however manaclash would probably reflect at you before it drops. Seems kind of dangerous.

Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
You cannot prevent it, though, since NPCs automage their sustains up at birth.
It's YER ONLY CHANCE.

Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
It doesn't seem like he has it on always when he spawns. When I fought him on Insane, he spawned with a couple other sustains active, but not the reflective skin.
Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
Ata's reflective skin is certainly not always active at birth.
Hope to find Spellhunt Remnants.
BTW, I think I once took out Ata without dispelling his reflective skin at all with a solipsist. Difficulty was normal.

Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
If you have Verdant Class Pack you have access to a (currently OP) Cleansing Infusion that would help.
However, it also does manaburn damage. So it will hurt.

My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.
Re: Atamathon, anti-magic, etc.
Manaclash him? That seems a pretty dubious approach… I think I might reconsider this plan.
Another question about Spellhunt gloves… do they have an ability to turn off sustains? I did not notice that…
The only class that I've ever taken him down with is a Summoner. Everyone else dies although I've not even bothered to try with some of my better mages…

Of course the remnants can disable sustains. They are *great* to stop a fearscape.
And they should without problem terminate a reflective skin.
