Shielding from spells

#1 Post by ekeron »

Hello,

I'd just like to know if shields can block spells.

I know armour and defense is useless against magic but the shield's ability to block different damage types makes me wonder if it could work against spells. Otherwise, the effect doesn't seem that useful.

Shields can block all damage with a Prodigy investment in Spectral Shield. Additionally if they have a resistance on them, they can also block those damage types. IE, if you Shield has Fire Resistance then it will block incoming fire damage from the Flame Drake or the Flame skill from the Skeleton Mage.
Its amazing what the mind can come up with, but it shows talent to make something of it. - Davion Fuxa

Yep Block doesn't care where the damage comes from, it only cares if the damage is physical, or is a damage type that the shield has resistance to.
