Infinite..., what?

#1 Post by Seveger »

So, here goes my 1st forum entry, and it is either question or complaint, depending on how it goes...

I was playing on Infinite Dungeon floor 8, character level 9, and I ran into level 30 boss, no need to mention that he killed me in 2 shots. I understand that this game is supposed to be hard, but how do you expect me to take down that? Also, are floor 1 vaults supposed to contain level 35 bosses?

Just few notes about both situations, they were not on same character, since he got murdered both times. That level 30 boss wasnt in vault, but just roaming around and I've noticed that vaults are often way off the chart in terms of power of monsters contained within, but shouldnt they be, atleast, hard to do, not nearly impossible?

So heres the question, is this supposed to be so or is it a bug?

ID vaults are particularly more dangerous then normal. There is less Out of Depth protection, and you can generally expect the occasional overleveld boss in vaults. If it was outside of a vault, a level 30 boss is fairly rare. Out of depth enemies on normal parts of the floor can occur at about the same rate they do anywhere, though most low level dungeons don't allow every enemy to spawn. (Therefore, never a worm that walks in trollmire, or a orc high pyromancer in scintillating caves, etc.)

Since the ID can spawn any enemy type, spawning something with a high minimum level (like level 25 high pyro/cryomancers, or worms that walk) is marginaly more common. Typical advice is to steer clear of vaults unless you already know where the exit is, have cleared the rest of the floor, and have a means of escape.

Some even advocate avoiding vaults entirely until you're at least level 15-20 and in shouting distance of the enemies.
