Re: Dumb questions thread
I wanted to decide on a build that uses dexterity and constitution for a rogue. A character that uses dirty fighting and is better at surviving attacks rather than using high critical shots and stealth. Is it possible to not rely on stealth for a rogue and just focus on a few attacks and rather passives for dual daggers and what not? Im asking from a roleplaying perspective rather than a powergamer one.
Re: Dumb questions thread
It's certainly possible; heck, people have built two hander rogues and mindstar rogues before, rouges without stealth are easy compared to that. You might want to try using traps as well, or focusing on poisons.
Re: Dumb questions thread
New to tome, quick question about the 'unique item' you get from the merchant. Is it best to pick a certain type of item due to how it's coded? I've got a lich and my hat sucks but I'm wondering if it's best to pick a more 'powerful' slot, like a staff or body armor. I've already got a half-decent tier 5 artifact body armor though and the staff of that archmage guy - netiher are meant specifically for my class but they do ok. Should I still pick another staff or armor, or if I go for hat can I get the Mask of Zoro or some other awesome thing on par with whatever unique staffs/armor he grants? Thanks.
Re: Dumb questions thread
Oh and why does it seem that Shalores make better archers and Thalores make better mages? Seems kind of, wrong..
Re: Dumb questions thread
Antimages vs archmage.
What to do?
I'm going through orc bastions and at the start of each one in one turn all my sustains are gone.
Wildfire, Burning Wake, Shielding and all shields, etc... All in one turn. Up until now I was able to tackle the problem with teleport and killing from distance with arcane eye(best tactics ever, btw) But what to do if I will end up in a small level without much space to teleporting around?
Is there any way to prevent this?
This is so unfair. My mindslayer was never ever dispelled. Or silenced. Or manaburnt. Or...

Actually, with the recent changes to Shalore racials, they now make pretty impressive mages. I can't remember if those have filtered through to the official release yet, but if they haven't, you've got a lot to look forward to.Camcolit wrote:Oh and why does it seem that Shalores make better archers and Thalores make better mages? Very hard question to answer. Once you have played enough, you'll know which artifacts from the game you will want to wear, and hence save the $4000. For example, I never buy a belt, as there is an in-game belt I always try to get. But then again, sometimes it fails to materialize, particularly now that there are so many artifacts.Camcolit wrote:New to tome, quick question about the 'unique item' you get from the merchant. These days, there are also fabulous cloaks, so I don't normally buy these either. And again, the game's artifact mindstars are hard to beat, so I don't buy them for mindstar chars. And if you get the teleporting boots, nothing beats them.
So then, as a general rule, I go for a ring for my first 1-2 purchases, unless I've picked up a wonderful one. The Merchant's rings are mostly amazing and better than the game artifacts. After that I choose a hat, or amulet, or, if i haven't got one of the above, I go for a cloak/boots/belt.
I tend to look at all my gear and think what I would most like to be improved. Sometimes, I just keep buying rings, hoping for even better ones.

I like to buy dwarven lanterns from him, as well, since decent light sources are pretty rare (unless, of course, you decide to use that slot for the Eldritch Pearl). In general, weapons are a poor buy, since you'll almost always find at least one artifact weapon that's far superior to anything the merchant could give you.jenx wrote:Very hard question to answer. Oh, and obviously the money won't do you any good if you're dead, so you'll probably want to replace any filler equipment with a merchant randart if you still haven't found anything decent by the endgame.

Under C:\Users\<<yourname>>\T-Engine\4.0\tome\save zip up the character you want to transfer and then unzip in the same place on your new computer.mojoiskewl wrote:I play on multiple PCs, is there a way my characters can stay persistent through all of them?

Thanks I'll try this one, logging on does not seem to make my characters visible on my other PC-- though it did make my unlocks availablejenx wrote:Under C:\Users\<<yourname>>\T-Engine\4.0\tome\save zip up the character you want to transfer and then unzip in the same place on your new computer.mojoiskewl wrote:I play on multiple PCs, is there a way my characters can stay persistent through all of them?
